Shopping for a Washer and Dryer? Check These Details Before You Choose
Gas or electric, hookups, measurements, door swing and capacity: a short checklist to bring when you shop for a rent-to-own washer and dryer in East Texas.

When the laundry starts piling up, it's tempting to pick the first washer and dryer that look right. But a matching finish won't help if the dryer needs a different connection or the washer door won't open inside your laundry closet.
Before shopping for a rent-to-own washer and dryer, gather a few details about your home and your laundry routine.
Confirm your connections first
Find out whether your home is set up for a gas or electric dryer. Check the water hookups, drain, dryer vent, and outlet against the appliance's installation instructions.
If you rent your home, ask your landlord or property manager about appliance rules before choosing a model.
Take clear photos of the connections to show our team. If anything is uncertain, have a qualified installer confirm it.
Measure more than the opening
Write down the available width, height, and depth. Then allow for hoses, cords, the vent, and the manufacturer's required clearances.
- Top-load washer: needs room above it for the lid.
- Front-load washer: needs room in front for the door and for you to load laundry comfortably.
- Delivery route: measure from the entrance to the laundry area. A narrow doorway or tight turn can make delivery hard even when the appliances fit their spot.
Match capacity to your laundry
Think about what you wash in a typical week. Work clothes, school uniforms, towels, and bedding call for more room than a household that mostly washes small loads.
Ask whether the models you're considering can handle your bulky items, like comforters. A bigger drum only helps if the appliance fits your space and the way you wash.
Look at the controls too. Features you'll use every week deserve more attention than settings you may never touch.
Look beyond the matching set
Don't choose on looks alone. Compare loading style, cycle options, dimensions, care needs, and the EnergyGuide label when there is one.
If you plan to stack them, confirm the exact models are approved for stacking and that the right stacking kit is available.
Your shopping checklist
- Gas or electric dryer hookup
- Width, height, and depth of the space
- Doorway and hallway widths on the way in
- Photos of the hookups and vent
- Your three must-have features
Bring that list to our Henderson or Nacogdoches store, or browse our laundry appliances online first. Our team can go over what's available and the agreement details. Ask about delivery, installation, and service before scheduling anything so you know what to expect.
